Parlark is a small personal project run by Jack Hake and shared with a few invited testers. This page explains, in plain language, what it does with your data.
What Parlark can see
- Your Google sign-in: your email address and a Google account ID, used only to recognise you.
- The one Google Sheet you pick: Parlark asks only for Google’s
drive.filepermission, so it can open the sheet you choose and nothing else in your Drive. It only reads it.
What Parlark stores
- Your settings, column mappings, account settings and weekly history snapshots, stored in Google Cloud (us-east1) in a folder only your account can reach.
- Your Google Drive connection token, encrypted with a key held in Google Cloud KMS and tied to your account.
- Daily usage counts (for example, how many AI questions you asked), never the questions themselves.
Logs are scrubbed of amounts, account names, emails and tokens.
Who else is involved
- Google Cloud hosts the app and storage.
- Google Gemini (Vertex AI) writes the plain-English summaries and answers chat questions. It receives a summary of your portfolio figures for that request. Google does not use Vertex AI customer data to train its models.
- Yahoo Finance, SEC EDGAR and FRED provide public market data. Parlark asks them for prices of the tickers in your sheet; nothing that identifies you is sent.
No ads, no tracking cookies, and your data is never sold or shared for marketing.
Your controls
- Export my data (sidebar, “Your data”) downloads your settings and history.
- Delete my data permanently removes everything Parlark stores for you, including older backup versions, and disconnects Google Drive. Your Google Sheet itself is never changed.
- You can also revoke access any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
